After the 1675 (1959-1980), the reference 16750, produced from 1980 to 1988, is the pivotal watch that marks the transition from the “vintage” to the “modern” world: it retains the plexiglass crystal and Mercedes hands of its predecessor, but introduces caliber 3075 at 28,800 vibrations per hour and the “quick-set” rapid date, as well as white gold surrounds for the hour markers.\nAround 1984-1985, it indeed received the black lacquered dial with white gold-surround hour markers, the standard to this day: the 16750 is the only steel GMT-Master to combine this modern dial with a plexiglass crystal, the last before sapphire.\nOur example, produced in 1987, is in virtually new condition. Never polished, it retains wide, sharp bevels and, on its caseback, the original green Rolex sticker inscribed “16750”. The lacquered dial is impeccable, the tritium on the hour markers and hands has developed a superb, even cream patina, and the original “Pepsi” insert is perfectly saturated. The original Oyster bracelet, reference 78360, buckle code K7 (July 1986), is in perfect condition. Caliber 3075 has been fully serviced by one of our experienced watchmakers and runs ideally.
