1959 Omega Seamaster 14390-3 SC

A superb Omega Seamaster from 1959. With a contemporary diameter, its stainless steel case is perfectly preserved and retains sharp angles. Its silver dial soberly displays the stylized Omega and Seamaster logos, and the dots of radium-based luminescent material have developed a magnificent homogeneous orange patina, which can also be seen on the charismatic ‘Alpha’ type hands.

The hand-wound mechanical movement, Omega caliber 285 (30T2 family) with central seconds, is as reliable as it is pleasant to look at. It has recently been completely serviced by one of our experienced watchmakers. During this process, the plexiglass glass and the gaskets were replaced with new ones for greater durability and wearing comfort.

Elegant and superbly preserved for 65 years, easy to wear on a daily basis and functioning perfectly, fitted with a new high quality leather strap, this Omega Seamaster from 1959 is the ideal watch for anyone looking to get started in the world of vintage watch collecting.

This Omega Seamaster is in excellent general condition. The case has retained very sharp facets, and we can only discern 2 service marks inside the caseback, reinforcing our feeling that this watch has only been worn and opened very few times since its initial purchase, and probably never even polished.
The beautiful original silver dial shows no significant oxidation marks or pitting. There are only a few micro-scratches, notably to the left of the hands axis and around 12 o'clock. The patina of the luminescent elements is pronounced (orange) and homogeneous.
The hand-wound mechanical movement is in excellent aesthetic and mechanical condition, and operates within the strictest tolerances.
It comes on a brand new Amplitude° leather strap.
