Rare Piaget “Tank Clous de Paris” Ref. 9151 in Yellow Gold & Onyx, circa 1975 – Perfect

A superb, rare and elegant rectangular Piaget so-called "Tank Clous de Paris", produced circa 1975, featuring a dial alternating the same gold pyramid motif as the case and pitch black onyx.
Preserved in excellent condition, this example embodies the essence of Piaget watches that are so sought after today: an ultra-thin case made possible by the use of the illustrious 9P caliber introduced in 1957 and long remaining the thinnest movement (2 mm) in the world, a mastery of gold and its textures unique to Piaget workshops, and the use of hard stone dials for striking depth of color and contrast.
The rectangular case with cut sides, entirely guilloché, is closed by a screw-down case back which retains all its original engravings: reference number, individual serial number of the watch, and gold and master hallmarks.
The dial, without indexes/markers, is absolutely elegant, enhanced by gold Dauphine hands.
We offer this Piaget "Tank" with 2 black alligator leather straps: the original one, born with the watch and signed Piaget, and a second, new, extra-thin strap, custom-made by a craftsman, of very high quality. The original 18-carat yellow gold pin buckle, signed Piaget, is in excellent condition and still accompanies, as does the small Piaget black leather carrying pouch, this watch 50 years after its birth.
A piece of remarkable quality and refinement, acquired directly from its first owner, who bought it new from Joaillerie Arfan in Paris in the 1970s.

This rectangular Piaget is preserved in perfect overall condition.
The 18-carat (750‰) yellow gold case is superb, certainly never polished, with an intact Clous de Paris finish showing fine, crisp details. The caseback retains all its original engravings: reference number, individual watch serial number, and gold and maker's hallmarks. The winding crown is in perfect condition.
The onyx dial has no defects, no cracks, no missing parts, and the Piaget inscription is complete.
This Piaget "Tank" comes with 2 black alligator leather straps: the original strap, born with the watch and signed Piaget, and a second, new, extra-thin strap, custom-made by a craftsman, of very high quality. The original 18-carat yellow gold pin buckle, signed Piaget, is in excellent condition and retains its sandblasted finish inside the engraved "P".
