The fact that movement inside the Rolex reference 6426 is manually wound makes it possible to obtain a particularly thin and elegant case, not having to accommodate the imposing oscillating mass of automatic calibers.

The case back is engraved with the watch reference and the words “II.72”, indicating production during the 2nd quarter of 1972, which corresponds perfectly to the serial number of the watch (304xxxx, production in 1972).

The main specificity of our model is the presence of a rare and desirable “Linen Dial”. Indeed, its pattern displaying irregular crosses is reminiscent of the texture of linen canvas – perfect for summer! Furthermore, in excellent general condition, with clearly present luminous points and having developed a beautiful homogeneous patina, this dial gives a lot of charm to our Rolex Oyster Precision. A domed plexiglass crystal reinforces this refined feel that only vintage models can provoke.

This Precision 6426 is equipped with a Rolex Oyster bracelet in steel with folded links, reference 7835/19, end links 357. This rare bracelet, in excellent condition, is sought after by collectors. Indeed, beyond its “vintage charm”, it is this reference which was Rolex also used for the famous Cosmograph Daytona! In addition, this steel bracelet is very easy to take off – anyone can do it, using just a small tip. This allows the owner of this watch to change its look easily and quickly, for example by wearing it on a leather, alligator, rubber, or even a fabric NATO strap.

This watch is powered by the reliable Rolex caliber 1225, boasting 17 jewels. Following a complete overhaul by one of our watchmakers specializing in vintage Rolex models, our example today presents impeccable chronometric performance. During this service, the mainspring and the plexiglas crystal were also replaced with new ones, for ideal durability and wearing comfort.

Excellent overall condition.
The stainless steel case is well-preserved and the satin finish on the lugs is sharp. The smooth, mirror-polished bezel has no significant dents or shocks. The engravings between the lugs (model number and serial number) are particularly clean and legible.
The case back is in perfect condition, and absolutely matches this watch (engraved 1972).
The very beautiful Linen dial has no defects, and the luminescent material dots of the baton markers are all present, round, and have developed a beautiful patina – which can also be seen on the original hands.
The Rolex Oyster steel bracelet with folded links is in excellent condition for its age, with virtually zero stretch. The engravings on the buckle blades are precise. The stamped Rolex crown on the clasp is prominent and crisp.
