The Must de Cartier collection was launched in the late 1970s. Designed to make Cartier’s creations more accessible, at the very time the famous house was renewing itself following the unification of its 3 branches in New York, London and Paris, this line offers the brand’s emblematic designs with a modern touch and less costly materials.
The Cartier Tank Must model, launched in 1977, is one of the flagship pieces of this collection. It takes up the timeless design of the iconic watch known as the “Tank Louis”, created in 1922, adding colourful variations and materials such as vermeil.
Over the years, the Tank Must has appeared in many versions, incorporating mechanical and quartz movements as well as innovations such as the solar-powered dial. The Tank Must Grande Taille we are offering is part of this tradition, combining Cartier’s classic elegance with the extreme precision of a quartz movement.
Featuring a superb dial combining two of Cartier’s great stylistic symbols – the alternation of the 3 colours of gold, yellow, rose and white, known as “Trinity”, and the painted black Roman numerals on a white background – in excellent aesthetic condition and recently serviced by a qualified watchmaker, accompanied by a new black crocodile-pattern leather strap and a yellow-gold-plated Cartier pin buckle, this Cartier Tank Must in vermeil (20-micron yellow-gold-plated silver) is an ideal watch to wear every day as well as for the most elegant occasions, for both men and women.

This Cartier Tank Must known as “Grande Taille” is preserved in excellent aesthetic condition, featuring a perfect “White Trinity + Roman Art Déco” dial and a newly replaced mineral glass crystal, free of any cracks or scratches.
The fluted winding crown is set with a blue cabochon in perfect condition.
Surface micro-scratches and slight colour variations due to the yellow gold plating may be present on the case.
The quartz movement has been cleaned and tested, runs perfectly, and the battery that powers it has been replaced with a new one.
The glossy black crocodile-pattern leather strap is new, and the yellow-gold-plated Cartier pin buckle is in perfect condition.
