Introduced in 2001, the Rolex reference 114270 perpetuates the Explorer’s heritage while benefiting from the technical advances of the Geneva manufacturer.
Fully in line with Rolex’s adventure narrative since Sir Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norgay climbed Mount Everest in 1953, this iteration of the Explorer sees the introduction to this "professional" range of the 3130 generation of calibers, ever more reliable, precise and robust thanks to the new Parachrom hairspring and the improved balance wheel. The essential traits brought by its predecessor, the reference 14270, are retained: 36mm stainless steel Oyster case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water resistance to 100 meters, ultra-legible glossy black dial with white gold surrounds markers and emblematic applied Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.
