Superb Audemars Piguet “Diamonds & Sapphires” in White Gold with Integrated Bracelet, Circa 1989

Superb, rare and elegant round Audemars Piguet in 18k white gold with integrated bracelet in white gold as well, produced circa 1989 (serial number C561xx).
This exceptional watch, which follows the stylistic tradition of the Audemars Piguet “Cobra” models, features a fascinating dial, on which are set more than 110 diamonds as well as 11 blue sapphires to mark the hours. The setting is remarkable: the artisan “locks” the stones in place by folding down the metal surrounding them with a chisel, thereby creating a floral pattern around each stone, and giving the dial a unique depth.
The white gold bezel is also fully set/paved with dozens of small diamonds.
The hand-wound mechanical movement that powers it, Audemars Piguet caliber 2080, has been fully serviced by a qualified watchmaker and operates to the strictest tolerances.
Undeniably precious, this watch is no less elegant. The techniques used, the understatement and discretion of the white gold, the finesse of the case, its diameter (31 mm without the crown but with a large dial opening giving the feeling on the wrist of a watch measuring 34 mm) and the overall balance of its design make it an exceptional dress watch, equally suited to men's and women's wrists.

This rare white gold Audemars Piguet is preserved in superb overall condition. In fact, aside from a few minor scratches on the crown, it is flawless!
The sapphire crystal is in perfect condition, as are the dial and bezel, both fully paved with diamonds.
The case back features extremely deep and crisp engravings.
The (long) bracelet is perfectly preserved, and the “AP” medallion on the face of the clasp, as well as the engravings and hallmarks on the back, are impeccable.
