1969 Tudor Prince Oysterdate Ref. 9050/0

This Tudor Prince Oysterdate reference 9050/0 represents the brand’s interpretation of the Rolex Oysterdate model during the 1960s, a period when the sister brand used Rolex components while developing its own identity. The 34 mm steel case, with its smooth bezel and Oyster construction, retains its original proportions and finishes, with clear demarcations between the satin-brushed and mirror-polished surfaces.
The sunburst/radiant silver dial features applied baton markers whose luminescent material (tritium base) has developed a beautiful, warm, uniform beige patina – a natural evolution sought after by collectors. The date at 3 o’clock is made perfectly legible by the characteristic "Cyclops" magnifying glass.
The Tudor automatic movement based on the ETA 2784 caliber, recently serviced by a watchmaker specializing in vintage calibers, operates according to the strictest tolerances. The Oyster bracelet reference 7835/19 with folded links and 357 attachments – the original Rolex configuration for Tudors of this period – demonstrates the sharing of components between the two Geneva manufacturers, as do the crown and the case back, engraved with “Original Oyster Case by Rolex Geneva.”
This Prince Oysterdate, never polished before its acquisition by Amplitude°, is a particularly well-preserved example of 1960s Tudor watchmaking. It is ideal for everyday wear, and equally suited to men’s and women’s wrists.

This Tudor Prince Oysterdate reference 9050/0 is preserved in superb overall condition.
The demarcations between the satin-brushed/matte and mirror-polished/shiny surfaces are particularly clear. In fact, this watch had never been polished before we acquired it.
The smooth steel bezel is perfect.
The attractive silver/silver sunburst/radiant dial is in excellent condition, and all the dots of luminescent material (tritium base) at the tips of the indexes are present and whole, and have developed a very beautiful, warm and even beige patina.
The movement that powers our Prince Oysterdate, a self-winding mechanical Tudor caliber based on the ETA 2784 caliber, has recently undergone a complete overhaul by a watchmaker specializing in vintage models, and operates according to the strictest tolerances.
The bracelet is, as befits 1960s Tudor watches, a stainless steel Rolex Oyster with folded links, reference 7835/19, end pieces 357, in perfect condition.
