Superb Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 1005 in steel and 18-carat yellow gold accompanied by an incredible ‘set’ of original documents: Rolex warranty, COSC Chronometry Bulletin, and even the original purchase invoice, dated May 1968 in Buenos Aires (Argentina)!
With its beautiful dial, self-winding movement and two-tone Oyster bracelet, this is a rare model that is certainly ‘en vogue’.
Completely overhauled by one of our experienced watchmakers, this Oyster Perpetual, with its 34 mm diameter, is perfectly suited to both men with medium-sized wrists and ladies.

Produced in 1966, this rare Rolex features a steel and gold Oyster case, a fluted yellow gold bezel, a magnificent two-tone riveted bracelet and is powered by the renowned and reliable Rolex calibre 1570, which is also found in the brand's professional models.

Its cream dial has a subtle horizontal brushed texture, an unusual feature on Rolex dials, and tritium luminescent hour markers that have developed a beautiful patina. The straight-tipped gold hands are also filled with (initially) luminescent material.

Beyond its intrinsic appeal, what definitely makes this watch a true collector's item is the set of documents that accompanies it. Indeed, the owners of this Oyster Perpetual kept not only the original ‘punched’ guarantee in Spanish, but also the Chronometry Bulletin from the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), ‘punched’ as well and dated December 1966, and even the original purchase invoice, showing an initial sale on 17 May 1968 at Bellisomi Joyeros, an official Rolex retailer in Buenos Aires (Argentina)!

In short, this is an automatic Rolex with pure lines and real vintage charm, enhanced by the dual presence of gold and steel, that will suit both the discerning enthusiast wishing to wear it on a daily basis and the collector fascinated by the documents that still accompany it, almost 60 years after its birth.

The stainless steel case is very well preserved and the delineations between the satin- and mirror-polished surfaces are crisp.
The original case back, engraved III.66 to indicate production in the 3rd quarter of 1966, is original to the watch and in very good condition.
The fluted yellow gold bezel, polished in the past, retains sharp edges and lends a special charm to the watch.
The engravings of the reference and serial numbers are perfectly clear.
The beautiful cream-colored textured dial is original, unrestored and well-preserved, and the luminescent material (tritium-based) of the hour markers and hands has developed an interesting patina.
The very rare Rolex Oyster bracelet with riveted links in yellow gold and steel, reference 7205, lugs 61, is in very good condition considering its age and shows no stretch.
The mechanical self-winding movement, Rolex calibre 1570, has been completely overhauled by one of our watchmakers familiar with vintage Rolex movements and runs within the strictest tolerances, with an excellent reading on the professional timegrapher.
