1968 Omega Constellation 168.027 “C-Shape + Linen Dial” 168.027

Launched in the late 1960s, the Omega Constellation, nicknamed the “C-Shape” or the “Connie” due to the the shape of its tonneau (barrel) case, designed by Gérald Genta, marks a bold evolution in the design of the prestigious Constellation series, which first appeared in 1952.
Its stainless steel case with a diameter of 35 mm and characterized by its "C"-shaped silhouette with flowing lines and integrated lugs, brings a modernist elegance, typical of the period, to the wrist. The fluted/ribbed bezel is made of white gold, adding a particular shine to the watch. The case back is engraved with the image of the Geneva Observatory surrounded by eight stars.
Our example, reference 168.027, produced in 1968 (serial number 272xxxxx), is distinguished by its beautiful so-called "Linen Dial" imitating the texture of said fabric, enhanced with faceted applied indexes and slender hands. Protected by a domed plexiglass glass, the dial displays a readable and harmonious layout with a date window at 3 o'clock.
On the movement side, this Constellation features the celebrated Omega 564 caliber, an automatic movement with official COSC chronometer certification, operating at a frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour.
Preserved in excellent overall condition with the case retaining its original edges and chamfers, this 1973 Omega Constellation “C-Shape” embodies one of the manufacture’s most iconic designs. Both dressy and sporty, it represents a must-have piece for lovers of vintage watches that combine technical innovation with timeless aesthetics.

This Omega Constellation is preserved in excellent overall condition.
The superb “Linen” dial without luminescent material has no defects.
The steel case, most certainly never polished, retains its original proportions and finishes, with an alternation of satin-brushed surfaces using the sunburst technique and prominent, mirror-polished chamfers. The fluted/ribbed bezel in white gold is dazzling.
The self-winding mechanical movement, Omega caliber 564, has undergone a complete overhaul by an experienced watchmaker.
The Amplitude° strap in grained calfskin in khaki/military green is new, and comes with a vintage steel pin buckle signed Omega.
