1981 Rolex Cellini/Midas ref. 4153 in Yellow Gold – 'Double Blue'

The only known example of Rolex Cellini reference 4153 with blue dial and blue bezel.
The asymmetrical Rolex Cellini models are the direct heirs of the King Midas collection, imagined by celebrated watch designer Gérald Genta who took inspiration from ancient Greece for the shape of both the watch itself and its original cardboard box.
Having started to appear in Rolex catalogues in the late 1970s, the asymmetrical Cellini models on leather straps were released in numerous variations – of dials, but also of case finishes, diamond settings, etc. – although all share a stylistic identity that is instantly recognizable and today particularly sought-after.
The extremely rare reference 4153 has the particularity of presenting a lacquered bezel of the same color as the dial, with golden Roman numeral indexes at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. What's more, our example is the only one known with a blue dial and bezel!
Preserved in very good overall condition and entirely original, this watch represents a unique opportunity to acquire an elegant, special and desirable variant of the asymmetrical Rolex Cellini/Midas line.

This Rolex Cellini is preserved in excellent overall condition, with an intact lacquered bezel, an original blue dial with no stains or scratches, and a case that has most likely never been polished where the engravings remain perfectly clear. The hand-wound mechanical movement has been fully serviced by an experienced watchmaker and operates to the strictest tolerances. The black alligator leather strap is in used condition and can be replaced with a new one upon request.
