1985 Incredible Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 15038 in Yellow Gold – Like New

We are pleased to present this superb Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 15038 in 18-carat yellow gold, produced in 1985 (serial number 886xxxx).
The 34mm case, with its characteristic fluted bezel, uncommon on the 34mm OP Date, houses the automatic caliber 3035 with quick-set date function. This movement, introduced in 1977, represents a major evolution with its Microstella screw balance and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, offering increased precision and reliability compared to the 1575 it replaced.
The champagne dial, with its applied gold baton hour markers and cyclops lens at 3 o'clock, displays a subtle golden hue perfectly in balance with the case and band. The watch's near-mint condition testifies to exceptionally careful wear or long-term storage in a safe.
The long Rolex Oyster bracelet with riveted links in yellow gold, reference 7205 with end pieces 57 and folding clasp code G (1982), along with its overall condition, is a major distinguishing feature of this example. This extremely rare bracelet was notably used for manual-winding gold Cosmograph Daytonas, and it has become very uncommon to find it, especially well-preserved, on 34mm OP Date models.
Preserved in magnificent overall condition and fully serviced, this Oyster Perpetual Date 15038 equally suits both women's and men's wrists.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 15038 in yellow gold is preserved in incredible condition.
Indeed, it had never been polished when we acquired it, and had been worn very little since it came out of the Rolex factory 40 years ago! We decided to bring it back to new condition it by carrying out a high-level polish, replacing the plexiglass crystal, and performing a complete mechanical overhaul.
The demarcations between the matte brushed/satin and glossy/mirror-polished surfaces are remarkably sharp.
The rare Rolex Oyster bracelet with riveted links in 18-carat yellow gold, reference 7205, shows absolutely no stretch, and adds considerable value to this example.
The original champagne dial is in 10/10 condition, and the luminescent material (tritium base) of the markers and hands has developed a superb, pronounced, warm and homogeneous patina.
The self-winding mechanical movement, caliber Rolex 3035 with quick-set date function, has been fully serviced and is running perfectly.
In our opinion, this is the finest possible example of a reference 15038.
