We are proud to present this superb Audemars Piguet wristwatch in white gold, never before seen on the market, likely unique, and in near mint condition.
The texture of its blue dial – reminiscent of twill fabric – its diamond indexes, its high-quality extra-flat automatic movement: nothing was left to chance in the craft of this exceptional watch by one of the most prestigious Swiss manufactures of all time.

Detailed description

The round case measures 35 mm in diameter and is entirely hand-engraved with a herringbone pattern, repeated on the bracelet and dial.

The unique blue dial features a fascinating floral relief pattern and a texture reminiscent of cotton twill weave. The 11 markers are set with diamonds, while at 3 o'clock there is an aperture for date indication. The thin hands, also in white gold, are straight and contribute to the elegance of this superb dress watch. Original dome plexiglass crystal.

The superb and long integrated white gold bracelet is an extension of the engraved decoration of the bezel. The braided/herringone pattern, of a suppleness and quality today unmatchable by even the best Swiss ateliers, was born in the workshops of Jean-Pierre Ecoffey, the greatest "chaîniste" – that is to say, Genevan bracelet maker – of the 20th century. Ecoffey, whose work is recognized by the presence of the "JPE" hallmark inside the clasp, has worked with the most prestigious Swiss manufacturers, and is the genius craftsman behind the bracelets of some of the most important Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Breguet watches of the second half of the last century.

The movement that powers this watch is an extra-thin Caliber K2121 by Audemars Piguet, built on a LeCoultre & Cie ("the watchmaker of watchmakers") base. This Caliber 2121 embarks 247 components, 36 jewels, is highly decorated, and has been adjusted in 5 positions, as well as to heat and cold. Created in 1970, the Caliber 2121 is a derivative of the Caliber 2120 (1967), to which it adds the date indication in an aperture. This additional function makes it reach a height of 3.05 mm, making it the thinnest mechanical movement with automatic winding (central rotor) and date in the world. It equipped the ultra-thin automatic Audemars Piguets before being chosen in 1972 for the first Royal Oak, model 5402. Since that date and until its replacement in 2022 by the Caliber 7121, the Caliber 2121 has been one of the essential attributes of the “Jumbo” Royal Oaks.

This is one of the most beautiful incarnations of the major turning point in watch design that occurred between the late 1960s and the early 1980s. Integrated white gold bracelet, diamonds, textured dial, signatures of prestigious artisans, extra-thin automatic caliber, paramount name in Swiss watchmaking: an exceptional piece.

This Audemars Piguet has been preserved in excellent aesthetic condition. The fine engraved details of the white gold bezel remain crisp, the hallmarks are deep, and the superb dial shows no significant defects. The serial number, engraved on the outside of the case back, is legible. Finally, its movement has undergone a complete mechanical overhaul by a qualified watchmaker to ensure its perfect functioning for many years to come.
