Rare Boucheron “Disco Volante” in Yellow Gold

The first jewelry house to establish itself on Place Vendôme in 1893, Boucheron approaches watchmaking through the lens of jewelry: each watch is conceived as a precious object, sculpted in solid gold, with attention paid to design and finishing rather than pure mechanics. This round 18-carat yellow gold watch from the 1970s is a perfect illustration of this.
The 32mm case is striking in its architecture: a polished concentric ring bezel frames the dial, while the winding crown is concealed within the side – a signature feature of the Maison. The case back boasts an equally sculptural profile. The solid gold dial is fully guilloché, with the Boucheron signature printed and baton hour markers engraved directly into the metal. The hand-wound mechanical movement is signed Boucheron. This watch is presented on a black crocodile leather Boucheron strap with its original French-made yellow gold pin buckle (Jules Person hallmark). It also comes with a Boucheron box in grey-beige suede with a white silk lining.

This Boucheron “Disco Volante” is preserved in superb overall condition.
The round 18-carat yellow gold case is perfect, presumably never polished, and all its inscriptions, engravings and hallmarks are crisp.
The solid gold guilloché dial is magnificent. The hour markers are engraved directly into the dial. The Boucheron signature, printed over the guilloché pattern, is slightly tarnished with age but remains visible.
The hand-wound mechanical movement has been serviced by one of our experienced watchmakers and is in good working order.
The black crocodile strap, signed Boucheron, has been worn but remains perfectly usable.
The impressive original 18-carat yellow gold pin buckle is in near-new condition, and its eagle’s head hallmarks and Jules Person maker’s mark are perfectly visible.
The rectangular Boucheron box in beige suede with a white silk interior is in perfect condition.
